Galicia Mágica is a unique experience that will take you through some of the most charming towns in the region, where you can enjoy its delicious gastronomy and the best broths. The route begins in O Vicedo, fresh seafood from the area, along with the famous Albariño white wine, are some of the proposals to delight you in this first magical town on the route. Continuing towards the interior of the region, you will reach to Portomarín, where you can enjoy typical dishes of Galician cuisine like octopus or empanada. Next, in Larouco, you will taste the wines of the region and you will discover some of the secrets about its preparation.

Following the route you will find A Pobra de Trives, another magical town in the than tasting lacón with turnip tops or Galician stew, also traditional dishes of Galician cuisine.

Magical Galicia, a route of delicious wines and wonderful gastronomy, will be an experience unique place where you will discover the best kept secrets of the Galicia region.

Visiting

DAY 1: O VICEDO
DAY 1: O VICEDO

9:30 a.m – Arrival in O Vicedo and check-in at rural or charming accommodation.

10:00 a.m – Visit to O Vicedo Tourist Office to stamp the passport and gather local information.

10:30 a.m – Guided tour of the old town, exploring:

  • Charming streets
  • Church of Santa María
  • Coastal viewpoints

12:00 p.m – Guided visit to the Santoña Marshes Natural Park, with birdwatching and insights into local flora and fauna.

2:30 p.m – Lunch at a traditional restaurant, specialty: seafood broth with Albariño wine (D.O.).

4:30 p.m – Visit to a local pottery workshop in O Vicedo, to learn about the town’s artisan heritage.

8:30 p.m – Dinner at the accommodation, specialty: lobster rice.

10:00 p.m – Leisure activity: Starry Night

  • Astronomical observation tour under a pristine sky, thanks to low light pollution.

9:30 a.m – Guided visit to a local winery in O Vicedo, to learn about the winemaking process and enjoy a local wine tasting.

1:00 p.m – Lunch at a traditional restaurant, specialty: Galician stew (cocido gallego).

  • Includes a glass of red wine D.O. Ribeira Sacra.

3:00 p.m – Transfer at the client’s expense to Portomarín (approx. 75 km – 1.5 hours).

4:30 p.m – Visit to the Portomarín Tourist Office to stamp the passport and get local information.

5:00 p.m – Guided walk through the old town, stopping at:

  • Church of San Juan, rebuilt stone by stone after the Belesar reservoir was created.

6:00 p.m – Special visit to the Monastery of San Nicolás, known as a film location.

8:30 p.m – Dinner at the accommodation, specialty: lacón with grelos (pork shoulder with turnip greens).

9:30 a.m – Visit to a local sausage workshop in Portomarín, to learn about the traditional process of making Galician cured meats.

11:00 a.m – Guided tour of the Larouco Mountain Geopark, discovering the region’s flora, fauna, and geological heritage.

1:30 p.m – Lunch at a traditional restaurant, specialty: stewed wild boar.

  • Includes a glass of red wine D.O. Valdeorras.

3:00 p.m – Transfer at the client’s expense to Larouco (approx. 85 km – 1.5 hours).

4:30 p.m – Visit to the Larouco Tourist Office to stamp the passport and get local information.

5:00 p.m – Guided walk through the old town and visit to San Mamede Church, an example of Galician rural architecture.

8:30 p.m – Dinner at the accommodation, specialty: botillo with potatoes and turnip greens.

1:30 p.m – Lunch at a traditional restaurant, specialty: Galician-style grilled meat (churrasco).

Weather conditions: TGTE is not responsible for adverse weather conditions that may affect the development of the route. In case of cancellation or modification of activities and services due to weather phenomena, no refunds or compensations will be provided.

Food intolerances and allergies: It is the client’s responsibility to inform in advance about any food intolerance or allergy.

Client responsibility: TGTE is exempt from any responsibility for damages, injuries, or accidents that the client may suffer during the route, scheduled activities, or any other circumstance arising from their participation in the trip. Premium insurance included. (Check conditions).

Modifications due to closures or schedule changes: TGTE is not responsible for itinerary changes caused by facility closures, schedule modifications, or operational adjustments due to seasonal factors or special events. In these cases, alternatives will be proposed based on availability.

Late arrival to activities: It is the client’s responsibility to arrive on time for scheduled activities. In case of delay, the activity will be considered canceled with no right to a refund.

Official schedules and out-of-hours changes: Activities will be conducted according to official schedules. If the client wishes to make changes or schedule activities outside official hours, this may be done with an additional charge, subject to availability. It is recommended to check in advance to manage necessary adjustments.

Confirmation voucher: Once the reservation is reconfirmed, TGTE will provide the final itinerary along with confirmation of all included services. Throughout the route, the client must have a paper or digital copy of the confirmation of all services provided by TGTE to present at establishments.

Stamp your Magic Passport: During the journey, you will have the opportunity to stamp your Magic Passport, recording the towns visited. Two formats are available:

Physical format: Can be requested and collected at the tourist office of any Magic Village.

Digital format: Available through the Magic Villages App, where you can digitize your physical passport or keep a digital record.
